Sharing a file now is made easier via the following steps:
1. Connect the computers by:
Method A: Using a Crossover Cable to connect both computers
Resources needed:
Network cards installed in both computers
1 Crossover Ethernet cable
If network cards are already installed in each computer, connect the two computers by attaching one end of the crossover Ethernet cable from one computer and the other end to the second computer.
Method B: Using a Hub to connect both computers
Resources needed:
Network cards installed in all computers
2 or more normal Ethernet cables
If network cards are already installed in all computers, connect both computers to the hub by attaching one end of the Ethernet cable from the network card to the hub.
Method C: Using a Router to connect both computers
Resources needed:
Network cards installed in all computers
2 or more normal Ethernet cables
DSL modem provided by your ISP and a working high speed service
A router, can either be wireless or wired that is bridged to the cable modem.
If network cards are already installed in all computers, connect both computers to the router by attaching one end of the Ethernet cable from the network card to the router. Once done with attaching the Ethernet cables, connect to your high-speed Internet service using your router's GUI, usually by entering 192.168.1.1 on the address bar of your Internet browser.
